Galactic Makeup (Galaxy Inspired)

Hi everyone!

A few days ago, I was brainstorming again with myself. Haha! I was thinking it's been a while since my brain last functioned for a creative makeup look. It seemed that I was lacking in inspirations. Every time I attempt to do a creative makeup look, it would end up really bad or if not bad, not that good. I have tons of ideas and pegs inside my mind but I can't seem to put it into makeup. I was feeling sad already but yesterday, a certain someone's Facebook status suddenly made my brain work like crazy! That person is also a very talented makeup artist who is also known for creative makeup looks. I was so inspired and touched by that post and I told myself that I WILL DO AN AVANT GARDE MAKEUP LOOK AFTER CLASS TOMORROW NO MATTER WHAT! Haha!

So, last night when I got home, I ate, went to the supermarket, fixed my stuff, cleaned my makeup area, freshened up myself and then filmed a new video! :) I did a galactic makeup look because I've never done that before and I've been wanting to do it for such a long time already. Of course I did research and looked at different photos of galaxy to be inspired even more and this is what I came up with.

The technique that I did on the eye makeup is the same technique that the Pixiwoo sisters did in one of their awesome creative makeup tutorials. If you're an avid fan of the Sam and Nic then you probably know what I'm talking about. :)

I used a pink glitter liner from NYX to draw some twinkling stars! :) I originally applied a purple lipstick but I thought it's making the whole look too overwhelming so I just settled for a pale lip color then applied a shimmer purple eye shadow on my middle pout.

PURPLE SMOKEY EYES + 4U2 Envy Eternity 3-Color Eye Shadow Review

Hi everyone!

A few days ago, I've uploaded in my YouTube channel a purple smokey eyes tutorial using the new 4U2 Envy Eternity 3-Color Eye Shadow. It's just one of the looks that I came up with using the said palette. Although the eye shadow palette only has 3 colors, you can do different looks with it if you know how to play with colors. Anyway, here's the video tutorial of the look:

PRODUCTS USED:

FACE
4U2 Dream Girl Forever Liquid Foundation No. 02
4U2 Envy Halo Concealer and Highlighter in Medium
Fashion 21 Loose Powder No. 01
4U2 Dream Girl Lovelight BB Powder No. 01
Kiss Beauty Angel Baked Blusher Balls

EYES AND BROWS
Nature Republic Pretty Tree Auto Eyebrow No. 03
In2It Waterproof Eyebrow Colour
LA Girls Pro Primer
4U2 Envy Eternity 3-Color Eye Shadow No. 01
Nichido Mineral Kohl Pencil in Onyx
Snoe Beaute Eye Boop Precision Liquid Liner
Tony Moly Maxi Volume Force mascara

LIPS
4U2 Glitz lipstick No. 09

The 4U2 Envy Eternity 3-Color Eyeshadow is one of 4U2's new technology products. The other products are the 4-color blush and the Halo Concealer and Highlighter. This is just the second product that I'm reviewing.

The eye shadow comes in a small palette which can actually fit in the palm of my hand. I like how the packaging looks like but it is actually a bit flimsy like it would easily break. The clear window on the cover is actually loose already but you can snap it back. Parang detachable lang, ganun. The product is okay but I think it's a little pricey for PhP 394.00, don't you think?

The eye shadows are pigmented but they're too powdery. You really have to be careful when you use it to avoid fall outs. Be sure to tap the brush first before applying it. The eye shadows are smooth and have a satin finish.

Here is how the eye shadows look like with flash:

Here's how they look like without flash:

This Envy Eternity 3-Color Eye Shadow by 4U2 is available in 4 variants and I can't wait to try out the other colors! This palette is the No. 01 Blossom. It's now available in all SM Department Stores and Watsons nationwide for PhP 394.00.

Let me know if you want me to do another look using this palette. Talk soon!

FOTD (112412): Rosey Fresh!

Hi everyone!

Happy Saturday! Today is my Mama's therapy day and we will accompany her in Rapha Health at Greenbelt 5. Since Mama and my sister are still doing their makeups, I'm stealing a few minutes to share with you my FOTD. For my everyday makeup look? It's still the same. Fresh and clean face and eye makeup plus bright or bold lip color. Today I chose to wear my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten because I want a hot pink color for my lips but my lips is kind of dry today so my balm stain in Smitten is just perfect!

School Haul!

Hi everyone!

It's been almost three weeks already since classes of this semester had started. I needed to buy some new school stuff like a pair of black shoes, pens, and notebooks. Last night, after we left the Lady Gaga Fame black perfume launch, we went straight to Trinoma and I stopped by National Bookstore to buy what I needed. The bag and the shoes though were bought by my Mom and Dad/

Let's start with what I bought at Trinoma.

1. Cattleya Writing Pads - PhP 47.74 / 3 pieces

We all know that a notebook is not really that important in college. You can actually write anywhere and your professors won't mind BUT some requires you to have an exclusive one for their subject. I bought these writing pads because my P.E. instructor requires all of her students to have a separate notebook for her subject. I'll use the other two for my other subjects. These writing pads are available in other pretty neon colors such as yellow and pink. The reason why I bough these was because they are easy to carry and the metallic patterns totally got me. :)

2. Mon Ami Pens (black and red)

3. Best Buys Stick-On Pads - PhP 22.00

I'll be posting reminders on the door of my closet from now on!

4. Foska Staple Set - PhP 49.00

You need a stapler throughout your school life ---  TRUST ME! This Stapler Set by Foska is such a steal. For only PhP 49.00, you'll already get a small stapler and 1000 pieces of staples!

5. Max! Easy Tear clear tape

6. Mini365 Days Diary by Swell Stuff - PhP 60.00

This will serve as my mini planner!

7. Parisian Plus Black Flats (Jadda) - PhP 699.75

This pair of shoes is so comfortable! I can just walk all day, anywhere ---- JUST KIDDING! But it really is comfortable! :)

8. Black Tote from SM Departmen Store - PhP 399.00

This bag can carry all of the things that I need to bring at school! It looks chic, it's spacious, and it's affordable! I love the animal leather style. It looks sophisticated and classic. :) The only thing that I don't like about this is that it doesn't have a zipper. It only has a button but it's no biggie. I just put all of my things in an organizer and then I placed the organizer inside my bag and voila! My things are secured for sure! :)

That's it! Time to do my effin' homeworks! LOL!

Talk soon!

Review: HOLIKA HOLIKA MAGIC POLE WATERPROOF MASCARA

Hi everyone!

I want to share with you one of my most favorite mascaras. I've been using this non-stop ever since I bought it at the 5th Phil-Cosmetics Expo last September. It's a permanent resident of my makeup kit. Though I still use other mascaras, this one is definitely my go-to mascara. Ladies (and gentlemen?) I present to you the Holika Holika Magic Pole Mascara (waterproof).

Here's the thing, I love my eyes but I hate the fact that I don't have naturally long and curled eyelashes. I have what they call the Asian Eyes and when I open my eyes, it's like I don't have eyelashes at all. That's why I never leave the house without applying mascara because it opens up my eyes and adds life on my eyes.

My current favorite is the Holika Holike Magic Pole mascara in waterproof. It's also available in regular so that means the other one is not waterproof and I know some of you love that kind of mascaras but I personally go for the waterproof ones even though it's usually a pain in the a** to remove. Anyway, I got it for only PhP 350.00 from my cousin Soleil of Makeup By Soleil during the 5th Phil-Cosmetics Expo. The main reason why I picked this mascara is because of its wand.

The tip of the wand is spherical which I and my boyfriend find very cute. Haha! He likes unusual stuff! He doesn't really care about my makeup stuff but this one amuses him. Hahaha! Anyway, going back to the mascara, according to Holika Holika, the special spherical wand is what made this mascara the best seller among their other products. The rounded ball at the tip of the wand reaches the hard-to-reach part of your eyelashes --- and that means the inner part. The spherical tip does an awesome job in separating, volumizing, and lengthening the eyelashes. It's amazing, I'm telling ya! It also reaches the tiniest corner and strand of the bottom eyelashes.

Look at my side-by-side before and after photos below:

It's so obvious how awesome the Holika Holika Magic Pole mascara is! As you can see in the left photo, it's like I don't even have eyelashes while in the right photo, it's as if I've put on a pair of false eyelashes. The spherical wand is definitely the one to blame for my long and volumized eyelashes. But that's not the only thing that I love about this mascara. You also have to consider the formula of a mascara because aside from the fancy wands, the formula is what really helps give you that lengthening and volumizing effect. This mascara contains fiber extract which enhances and strengthens the eyelashes. The color is jet black so it will definitely give you a strong look on your eyelashes and it will add so much life on your eyes.

This mascara is waterproof and smudgeproof. It stays on the whole day, it does not give me that raccoon eyes or panda eyes even if I sweat or my under eyes get oily. I've tested it on the back of my hand. I swatched the mascara then let it dry for a few seconds.

I swear, the photo above and the photo below are completely different. I rubbed the mascara with my fingers and it did not smudge at all.

It did not even transfer on my fingers that I used to rub it. No trace of black fibers at all.

Now you know why I love this mascara so much. If you want to purchase and try this awesome mascara out, please visit my cousin's page https://www.facebook.com/makeupbysoleil.

Review: 4U2 ENVY HALO CONCEALER AND HIGHLIGHTER

When 4U2 Cosmetics released their new concealer which is Halo from their Envy line, I thought why did they name it Halo? After trying out the product, I realized why (or maybe it's just me).

Hi everyone!

If you follow 4U2 in Twitter and visit their Facebook page often, you probably know about their new products from their Envy line. Last July 2012, 4U2 Cosmetics released three new technology Envy products in Thailand which includes the Halo Concealer and Highlighter. The other products are the Eternity 3-Color Baked Eyeshadow and the Eternity 4-Color Baked Blush

Among the three new products, I think the Halo Concealer and Highlighter got the most attention (based on people's responses and reactions on 4U2 Cosmetics Philippines' Facebook page). People seemed to be intrigued about this new concealer and highlighter... including me. That's why when Ms. Meredith of 4U2 sent me the new technology products, the first one that I checked out was the concealer. It's also the the product that I first wrote a review to somehow help those who are planning to try it out.

The packaging is pretty decent. I personally love it --- the purple box, the pink linings and the Halo logo is just perfect. The expiration date is written at the bottom of the box and everything else that you need to know like ingredients, instructions, precautions, etc. are written at the back of the box.

The concealer comes in a jar (which actually reminds me of the NYX Concealer in a jar) and you can find the highlighter on top of the jar's lid. The whole packaging reminds me of the BT Minerals Camouflage Mineral Concealer with Mineral Powder.

The Halo Concealer and Highlighter is available in three shades --- 01 Light, 02 Beige, 03 Ivory. I got the shade 02 Beige. I'm not sure if this is really the perfect shade for me because I haven't seen yet the other two shades in person but 02 Beige actually looks fine on me.

Aside from the packaging, the Halo concealer also reminds me of the texture of the NYX Concealer in a Jar. The only difference is that the NYX concealer in a jar is a bit more pigmented than the 4U2 Halo concealer. The texture is semi-matte. It's not thick but it's not that creamy and it glides on smoothly on the skin.

When I applied it on my dark under eye circles, it lightened the darkness on the first layer and it concealed the darkness on the second layer. Observe the photo below.

In picture number 1, I have nothing on my face. You can really see the darkness and circles around my eyes. On the second photo, I concealed the right eye area and you can already see the huge difference. On the last photo, I concealed both eye areas already and if you're going to compare it to the first photo, you can really see that my dark under eye circles had vanished and the area around my eyes brightened up. Now I know why it's called Halo. ;-)

The coverage is light to medium only. I tried to add a couple more layers to have full coverage but the finish was just the same. I like the concealer though because it's doesn't cake after application. However, I have fine lines under my eyes and after a few hours from the time of application, it creased a little. But it's no biggie. I haven't really found a concealer yet that doesn't crease under my eyes.

I also tried to apply it around my nose to conceal the redness and it does the job so well. I used it, too to conceal my blemishes and it did lighten my dark spots but it did not fully conceal them. Like what I've said, the Halo concealer only has medium coverage. I used this concealer at school last Monday and I was at school from 11:30 in the morning up to 7 in the evening. I got home at around 8:30 in the evening and I checked on the concealer on my face and it was still there BUT it sheered out a little. My eye area though was still bright.

Maybe it's just the same with the other concealers but I personally love it. It does a good job in concealing the darkness around my eyes and the redness around my nose but I don't think it's the perfect concealer for my icky blemishes. I would recommend it still especially to those who have really dark under eye circles. This concealer could help brighten up your eye area.

Okay, let's talk about the highlighter although I think I won't talk much about it. Haha! Why? Because there's nothing really special about it. I mean, it's okay, it acts as a highlighter but it doesn't have that wow factor for me unlike other highlighters. I think it's just like an off white eye shadow which is semi-matte. It has micro glitters in it but it's not noticeable when you apply it on your skin. I think this would be perfect for those who love highlighters that are not that shimmery.

I use this highlighter on my brow bones and nose bridge and it's pretty okay. I don't want to completely ignore it because I don't want it to go to waste. It's not really a bad highlighter, it's just that it doesn't have that wow factor for me. Ooh! Another thing, it's a little chalky. :-/

This is a photo of me wearing the Halo Concealer and Highlighter. In this photo, I used the concealer on my dark under eye circles, redness around my nose and blemishes then applied my 4U2 Dream Girl Forever Liquid Foundation. I applied the highlighter on my brow bones, nose bridge and on the top of my cheek bones. I was also wearing the new Eternity 4-Color Baked Blush in this photo.

By the way, I have a First Impression video about this concealer and highlighter, watch it here:

The 4U2 Envy Halo Concealer and Highlighter is available at all leading department stores nationwide for PhP 394.00. Go check it out to see if it will work greatly on you. ;-)
