COSMETOLOGIE 2012

It was my first time to attend Cosmetologie, an annual beauty and wellness expo. I was so excited because I know I would meet a lot of beauty bloggers there, and yes, I got the chance to meet some of them. :)

The event was a two-day activity, February 21- February 22, 2012 and we attended on the 2nd day. It was held at SMX Convention Center and I went with my sister and my boyfriend but because he knew he wouldn't enjoy the makeup expo, he just watched a movie alone at SM Mall of Asia which is just a few steps away from SMX. :)

 Quick FOTD: (BRONZED/TANNED LOOK)
San San Matte Finish Liquid Foundation #03, L.A. Girls PRO Conceal HD Concealer in Pure Beige, Maybelline Shine-free Cake Powder in Honey, Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Rajah, ELF  Blush in Fuchsia Fusion, Ever Bilena Ever Original in Brown, In2It Waterproof Gel Liner in Very Black, 4u2 Reflections Eyeshadow Quattro (white eyeshadow), Maybelline Extreme Stiletto, In2It Moisture Intense Lipstick in Pink Alarm

We got there at around 2pm and we decided to eat our late lunch first before we headed at the Cosmetologie 2012. We had our lunch at Tokyo Cafe and these were the delicious meals that we devoured.

Mango Chicken Salad

Creamy Chicken Pasta for my sister

Katsu-Ju for me and for zee boyfriend :)

Cranberry juice for me! Yay! :)

After our late lunch, we roamed around inside MOA first then we went to SMX to finally register for Cosmetologie 2012. Lincon decided to just watch Ghost Rider 2. :)

There were different contests held at the event, like Fantasy Makeup, Nail Art Designing and Bridal Makeup Looks.

MakeUp Designory (MUD) had a free makeup workshop for everyone :)

My sister and I didn't know where to start and what to buy because we were overwhelmed by all of the cosmetic brands and all the beauty stores we have seen in there like L'Oreal, NYX, MUD, Wet N Wild, L.A. Colors, Suesh, Digital Traincase, Beauty and Minerals, etc.

Then, while we were resting (after an hour and a half of roaming around), I saw Say Tioco Artillero at the Suesh's stall and then I noticed that she was with Teena Rose of AngKikayKo and sisters Sab of MissCoryPotts and Andee of Oh Its Andee! :) I dragged my sister with me and asked her to take my picture with those lovely beauty gurus. :)

It was really awesome to finally met them! It was so surreal! :)

After taking photos, we finally parted ways so, my sister and I continued to roam around to find potential purchases. ;-) Then after going back to L.A. Colors, NYX, and Wet N Wild's stalls (because their stalls were placed side by side) for the second time, my sister and I finally found a few interesting things from Wet N Wild and that's where we bought our first purchases.

After buying 4 pencils and 1 lip shimmer, we asked the sales lady, Denise, if we could have a picture with her for blogging purposes and for remembrance.

Here's our photo with Denise. :) I found out from her that NYX, L.A. Colors and Wet N Wild are sister companies. I already know that NYX and Wet N Wild are sister companies but I didn't know that L.A. Colors is also a part of their family until then.

Then I bough a set of eyelashes from MTN Marketing and we also took a picture with Matthew. He's the one who assisted me when I bought the eyelashes. :)

What a nice boy! :) So, after that, we went to Beauty and Minerals' stall and I bought two of their vegan makeup brushes. We also took a photo with the Charm Essentials owner, Ms. Sophie. Yay! :)

And the last exhibitor that we had a photo with is Ms. Cherry of Kairyu Nails. She is the one who designs the different beautiful nail arts of Kairyu Nails. :) She gave my sister a very good deal for her body butters! :) My sister got three pots and a few different nail art stencils!

Ms. Cherry is super funny and bubbly. She even asked me to put powder on her when she found out that I am a makeup artist. :-D

After four hours of wandering, purchasing and enjoying, we finally decided to go home. When we're about to head out from SMX, we saw Say, Teena, Sab and Andee, again at the cafe and this time, they were with Ana Patricia and Trina (TheBestSoyLatteandMe)! I didn't let that opportunity to just pass by, so I asked my sister to take my photo with all of them! :)

It was really nice to meet you, ladies! I hope to see you soon, again. :)

After that, we went to Robinson's Galleria because I wanted to check out Saizen (Daiso), a Japanese store and it was very interesting because everything is at PhP 85.00! :) I bought three things but I'm going to show it to you on my next post. ;-)

Then we went to Mister Kabab at Blue Wave to have our dinner.

As you can see in the photo below, we were really, really hungry! It's as if our plates were hit by a big tornado! BURP! We loved the Keema! :)

And around 11:45 in the evening, we finally arrived at our house in Tagaytay. It was such a looooooooong day but I really had so much fun, especially because I spent that day with two of my favorite persons in the world! :) Oh, and it was also the 40th month of me and my boyfriend, Lincon. Hee!

I'll never forget my first Cosmetologie. Were you there? Share your experience! :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your missions! :)

PRODUCT REVIEW: Maybelline 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner by EYESTUDIO

In my previous blog entry, I reviewed the Maybelline Crayon Liner. This time, I'm going to review another eye pencil from Maybelline which is the 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner by EYESTUDIO.

Product Name: MAYBELLINE 2-IN-1 IMPACT SHADOW LINER by EYESTUDIO
Price: PhP 359.00
Spotted: SM North Edsa, Watsons

Last February 3 (2-5), SM North Edsa was having The Great Northern. I, of course, quickly checked out different cosmetic brands, including Maybelline New York and selected Maybelline products had 20% discount. Then I saw this 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner and I thought it was interesting and intriguing because, well, it's a 2-in-1 eye pencil.

Maybelline 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner is an eyeshadow and an eyeliner in 1. Unlike the Maybelline Crayon Liner, this eye pencil impressed me. And because I don't want to regret buying this pencil (like the way I did in purchasing the Crayon Liner), I swatched and tested the eye pencil first. I swatched 3 shades on the back of my hand and then I continued to look around and visit other cosmetic counters before I checked back on the liners that I swatched. I waited for about 15 minutes to rub the pencils on my hands and I was impressed because it didn't smudge and no matter how hard I rubbed the swatches, the colors were still pretty pigmented. Because I was impressed and because Maybelline was on sale that day, I purchased two 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liners. If Maybelline was not on sale that day, I would purchase only 1 pencil. =D

So, I bought the brown one and the white one. I got the pencils for only PhP 288.00 each because it was on sale nga.

Here's a closer look of my Maybelline 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liners:

A closer look at the tips of the pencils. You can tell which pencil I use the most. ;-)

Here's a photo right after swatching the pencils:

Here's a photo 15 minutes after swatching. As you can see, the colors are still pigmented although it did smudge a little bit. So, I waited for another few minutes to see if the colors will dry completely or if they would still smudge.

Here is a photo of my fingers that I used to rub the pencils. As you can see, my fingers were stained but only a bit of the product/s transferred on my fingers.

Finally, here's a photo after 20 minutes of swatching and after rubbing a few times using a heavy hand. The colors are still pigmented and it smudged just a little bit and that's because of rubbing in a forceful manner.

I was impressed with the result of the swatch and rub test that I did on these eye pencils. However, I wasn't sure yet at the time if the pencils would be as great when it's actually used on the eyes. So, I tried to use the pencil when my boyfriend and I went out the next day.

FYI, I used mostly Maybelline products on this look.

Quick FOTD: Maybelline BB Cream in 02 Natural, Maybelline Shine-Free Cake Powder in Honey, Maybelline 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner by Eyestudio in white and brown, Maybelline Crayon Liner in black, Maybelline Extreme Stiletto mascara, Maybelline ExpertWear blush in Romantic Plum, Maybelline Water Shine lipstick in B24, and Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil for my eyebrows.

I used the 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner in brown as my eyeshadow for this look and the white one as a highlighter for the inner corners of my eyes. I don't know if I applied the pencils in a wrong way but they appeared cakey on my eyes. It's not that noticeable in pictures but it doesn't look so great in person. The brown pencil creased on my lids even though I primed my eyes with my ELF eyelid primer.

I guess I applied it in a wrong way because the thing about these pencils, they dry very quickly so I guess you shouldn't put a generous amount on the first application. I guess you should gently build up the color but you might want to blend it quickly because it also dries quickly, I'm warning you. So, if you will not be alert, you might have a hard time working with it and blending it out.

I am going to figure out how to correctly use this pencils and then I will update you guys soon. I hope this review did help you (somehow). Please stay tuned for my update and for my next posts. Also, stay tuned for my next videos in my YouTube channel and please don't forget to subscribe. :)

Stay awesome my dear dudettes! :)
